A district police chief and five others policemen were wounded
in a clash with insurgents in western Badghis province on Wednesday
morning, local officials said.
The incident took place in Muqur district of Badghis when some insurgents attacked the group after the police vehicle detonated a roadside mine. The district police chief Haji Zia Khan and five other policemen were wounded, provincial spokesman Sharafudin Majidi told TOLOnews.
The insurgents escaped the area after the brief clash with the police, he said.
There were no civilians casualties during the incident, he added.
No group, including the Taliban, has claimed responsibility for the incident.
