Three armed insurgents killed, one wounded and 12 others arrested by Afghan National Police

During the past 24 hours, Afghan National Police, Afghan National Army, NDS and Coalition Forces launched 14 joint clearance operations in Kabul, Balkh, Kandahar, Helmand, Zabul, Uruzgan, Maidan Wardak, Ghazni, Khost and Paktika provinces.
As a result of these operations, three armed insurgents were killed, one wounded and 12 others were arrested by Afghan National Police.
Also, during these operations, Afghan National Police discovered and
confiscated 15 different types of weapons, one rocket launcher, two PKM
machine gun, three radio handsets, 19 heavy rounds, six different types
of mines, three hand grenades, 106 kilograms of opium, 40 kilograms of
explosive materials and five motorbikes.
During the same 24 hour period, Afghan National Police discovered and
defused one anti-vehicle mine and 15 heavy rounds as a result of
security operations in Baghlan and Nangarhar provinces.
