BAGHDAD, Aug. 3 (Xinhua) -- A roadside bomb exploded near an Iraqi security force patrol in the town of Dhuluiyah on Friday, killing five soldiers and injuring five other military personnel, said the local police.
A local police source, on condition of anonymity, told Xinhua via telephone that the security forces have cordoned off the scene and launched searching campaign in the town, some 80 km off the capital city of Baghdad.
No one has so far claimed responsibility for the attack, said the source.
Al-Qaida's Iraqi affiliate has announced to launch more attacks recently on the war-ravaged country, stressing that the military, police and government service members would be the main targets.
