KABUL, Afghanistan (Nov. 24, 2011) —
A Haqqani network facilitator was captured by a combined Afghan and coalition security force during an operation in Pul-e ‘Alam district, Logar province, Wednesday.

The facilitator distributed roadside bombs and materials, and also moved weapons and fighters throughout Pul-e ‘Alam district.

South
A combined Afghan and coalition security force discovered a marijuana cache and nearly $50,000 in varying currency during an operation in Panjwa’i district, Kandahar province, yesterday. 890 pounds (405 kilograms) of marijuana was discovered with the money.  A portion of the drug cache was destroyed at the scene and the remaining drugs and money were confiscated by the Afghan portion of the patrol to be used as evidence.

East
A combined Afghan and coalition security force conducted an operation in search of a Haqqani network facilitator in Khost district, Khost province, yesterday. The facilitator coordinated the movement of insurgent fighters and weapons from Pakistan to Afghanistan. The security force confiscated multiple firearms and detained multiple suspected insurgents during the operation.
