Kidnapped Pakistanis released in Logar province

 According to local security officials in eastern Afghanistan, detained Pakistani engineers and labours were freed from the captive on Sunday night.

At least 7 Pakistani citizens including two engineers and 5 workers were kidnapping by unknown gunmen from the Kajaki area in eastern Logar province on Thursday 01 December 2011.

Mohammad Jan Abid provincial chief for counter-criminal department said, the detained Pakistani citizens were released in pul-e-Alam area of Logar province on Sunday night.

According to Mohammad Jan Abid, the kidnapped Pakistanis including two engineers and 5 workers were working in a hospital construction project in Kajaki, eastern Logar province.

The officials did not disclose further information regarding the release of the kidnapped Pakistanis.
No group have so far claimed responsibility behind the hostage taking and the main motive behind the kidnap is still unclear.
