Suicide bomb explosion rocks eastern Nangarhar province

According to local authorities in eastern Afghanistan, at least 13 people were killed and injured following a suicide bomb blast in eastern Nangarhar province.

The officials further added, the incident took place on Monday afternoon at Chowk-e-Pashtunistan in Jalalabad city.

Provincial governor spokesman Ahmadzia Abdulzai confirming the report said, at least 11 people were killed and injured during the incident.

Mr. Abdulzai further added, an Afghan intelligence official was killed and 4 Afghan civilians and 6 Afghan police were injured.

In the meantime an official in provincial hospital said, one person who was killed and 12 others who were injured during the incident were taken to the hospital so far.

While another official in provincial hospital speaking on the condition of anonymity said, at least 3 people who were killed and 7 others who were injured during the explosion were taken to this hospital.

No group including the Taliban militants have so far claimed responsibility behind the incident.
