KABUL, Afghanistan (Apr. 21) —
An Afghan and coalition security force conducted an operation to
capture a senior Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan facilitator and
explosives expert in Baghlan-e Jadid district, Baghlan province,
Wednesday.The
facilitator is responsible for multiple attacks against Afghan and
coalition forces in northern Afghanistan. He is also suspected in
plotting bombings and suicide attacks in Kabul.The security force detained one suspected insurgent and destroyed a rocket propelled grenade launcher and multiple RPG rockets.

A combined Afghan and coalition security force conducted an operation to disrupt insurgent weapons trafficking and secure transport routes in Aliabad district, Kunduz province, yesterday. During the operation, the combined security forces found two weapons caches comprising 17 mortars, two rocket-propelled grenades, and five recoilless rifle rounds. Security forces destroyed the cache on site without
incident.
West
In Lash-e Joveyn district, Farah province, a combined Afghan and coalition security force discovered a weapons cache during a security patrol, Thursday. The cache consisted of 36 120mm mortar rounds, 96 81mm mortar rounds, four rocket propelled grenade launchers, and 200 12.7mm rounds. Security forces destroyed the cache on site without incident.
