Four insurgents killed, IEDs defused

KABUL (PAN): Afghan and coalition forces killed four insurgents, located two weapons caches and cleared nine improvised explosive devices (IEDs) during operations in eastern Afghanistan in the past 24 hours, the US military said on Friday.

A joint force found and defused four IEDs -- two in Ghazni City, one in Khwaja Omari district and one in Gilan, a statement from the Bagram Airbase. One insurgent, detained during an engagement in Andar district, was transferred to a base for questioning.

Elsewhere in Ghazni, Afghan Uniformed Police and coalition forces discovered a weapons cache, containing items used to create improvised explosive devices, in Aab Band district.
