Mar. 04., 2013. - RC-East operational update

BAGRAM, Afghanistan - Afghan and coalition forces located and safely cleared eight improvised explosive devices and discovered two weapons caches during operations in eastern Afghanistan throughout the past 24 hours, March 3.

Logar province
Afghan National Security Forces found and safely cleared three IEDs during operations in the Muhammad Aghah district.

Afghan and coalition forces found and safely cleared an IED during operations in the Baraki Barak district.

Afghan and coalition forces discovered a weapons cache during operations in the Baraki Barak district. The cache consisted of 13 explosive fuses, six long-range rifle rounds and 10 pounds of homemade explosives.

Khowst province
Afghan National Security Forces found and safely cleared an IED during operations in the Terezayi district.

Afghan and coalition forces discovered a weapons cache during operations in the Nadir Shah Kot district. The cache consisted of 30 mortar fuses, four rocket fuses and nine rocket components.

Afghan and coalition forces found and safely cleared two IEDs during operations in the Sabari district.

Wardak province
Afghan and coalition forces found and safely cleared an IED during operations in the Sayyidabad district.
