The Taliban facilitator is responsible for the transportation of fighters, weapons and suicide bombers as part of the Kabul attack network. He maintains operational control over a cell of fighters that carries out attacks against Afghan and coalition forces. He also equips suicide bombers with IEDs and coordinates the locations of their attacks.
An Afghan and coalition security force arrested one insurgent during an operation in search of a Taliban facilitator in Kandahar City, Kandahar province, today. The facilitator constructs improvised explosive devices and distributes them to insurgents operating in the Arghandab River Valley and Kandahar City. He is also involved in overseeing weapons caches and planning attacks against Afghan and coalition forces in the local area.
Afghan and coalition security forces confirmed today the arrest of a Haqqani leader during an operation in Gardez district, Paktiya province, yesterday. The leader coordinates and directs attacks against Afghan and coalition forces in Gardez district. He also facilitates the movement of weapons, military equipment and money to local insurgent cells, and serves as an intelligence operative for senior Haqqani leadership.
