2 Afghan soldiers killed, 2 injured in Helmand province

According to Afghan defense officials, at least 4 Afghan National Army soldiers were killed and injured following an improvised explosive device explosion in southern Helmand province.

The officials further added, the incident took place in Greshk district of southern Helmand province killing at least 2 Afghan army soldiers and injuring 2 others.

Afghan national army soldiers also seized some weapons, ammunitions and explosives including 4 improvised explosive devices during the military operations across the country.

According to a statement released by Afghan defense ministry, Afghan army soldiers seized at least 1 AK-47 rifle from Almar district of Faryab district, 1 AK-47 rifle along with a pistol from Chaparhar district of eastern Nangarhar province, 6 improvised explosive devices from Zabul province, 2 improvised explosive devices from Zurmat district in Paktia province and 2 improvised explosive devices from Syedabad district of Maidan Wardak province.

In the meantime local security officials in eastern Ghazni province announced Afghan and coalition security forces detained 5 insurgents including a Taliban leader at Moqor district.

However Taliban militants denied the reports and said the detainees were 3 Madrasa students.
