37 armed insurgents killed, 14 wounded and three others arrested by Afghan National Police
Counterterrorism:
During the past 24 hours, Afghan National Police, Afghan National Army,
NDS and Coalition Forces launched 12 joint clearance operations in
Kabul, Laghman, Parwan, Kunduz, Sar-e-Pul, Kandahar, Helmand, Zabul,
Uruzgan and Farah provinces.
As a result of these operations, 37 armed insurgents were killed, 14 wounded and three others were arrested by Afghan National Police.

Also, during these operations, Afghan National Police discovered and
confiscated 25 different types of weapons, three PKM machine guns, one
radio handset, 13 heavy rounds, two anti-vehicle mines, one hand
grenade, 250 kilograms of ammonium nitrate and two motorcycles.
Counternarcotics:
During the same 24 hour period, Afghan National Border Police discovered 27 kilograms of heroin as a result of searching vehicles in the Achin District of Nangarhar province.

In the meantime, Afghan National Border Police conducted an operation
in the Spin Boldak District of southern Kandahar province, last night.
As a result of this operation, Afghan National Police discovered 200 kilograms of opium and 700 kilograms of hashish.
