BAGRAM, Afghanistan - Afghan and coalition forces killed three
insurgents, detained eight, located a weapons cache and cleared nine
improvised explosive devices during operations in eastern Afghanistan
throughout the past 24 hours, Sept. 8.
Kunar province
Afghan National Security Forces and coalition forces found and safely cleared two IEDs in Qarah Bagh district.
Kapisa province
Afghan National Police and coalition forces detained four insurgents
during an engagement in Nejrab district. The detained suspects were
transferred to a base for questioning.
Khowst province
Afghan National Security Forces and coalition forces found and safely cleared an IED in
Nadir Shah Kot district.
Laghman province
Afghan National Police and coalition forces detained an insurgent during
an engagement in Mehtar Lam district. The detained suspect was
transferred to a base for questioning.
Logar province
Afghan National Army soldiers and coalition forces killed three
insurgents and detained three during an engagement in
Pul-E Alam
District. The detained suspects were transferred to a base for
questioning.
Nangarhar province
Afghan National Security Forces and coalition forces found and safely
cleared two IEDs, one in Mohmand
Darah district and one in
Behsud
district.
Afghan National Army soldiers and coalition forces discovered a weapons
cache in
Shinwar district. The cache contained a rocket launcher with
two propellants and a rocket-propelled grenade.
Paktika province
Afghan National Security Forces and coalition forces found and safely
cleared three IEDs, one in
Jani Khel district, one in Zarghun Shar
District and one in
Wazah Khwah district.
Wardak province
Afghan National Security Forces and coalition forces found and safely cleared an IED in Sayyidabad district.
Operations in RC-East are still ongoing.
