Interview: 2nd Lt. Daniel Filcik, Platoon Leader, 2nd Platoon 87th Sapper Company
87th Sapper Company Fort Hood, TX Patrols the Main supply routes in The Uruzgan Province of Afghanistan.
Their mission is to find roadside bombs threatening the lives of Coalition Forces, Afghan Security Forces, and the people of Afghanistan.
These engineers not only travel the roads loooking for Improvised Explosive Devices or IED';s, they patrol the ares alongside the roads.
The purpose is to find the trigermen waiting for convoys, and to show the people of Afghanistan they are there for their protection.
