Taliban Facilitator Captured in Khost Operation

A Taliban facilitator was captured on Thursday in an Afghan-led military operation in Khost province in eastern Afghanistan, Isaf said.

"The facilitator co-ordinated the procurement of weapons and explosives for attacks against Afghan security forces," Isaf said in a statement.

The security force seized weapons, ammunition and bomb-making materials. One additional suspected insurgent was detained during the operation.

The statement added that Afghan and coalition security forces conducted a search operation for a Taliban leader in the Nawa district of Helmand province in southern Afghanistan today. The leader conducts attacks against Afghan government officials.

Multiple suspected insurgents were detained during the operation.
