According to local authorities in western Farah province, at least 8 Afghan local police forces were killed following an attack by armed insurgents.
The officials further added, the incident took place in Khak-e-Safid distrct on late Wednesday evening.
Provincial police chief Shams-ur-Rahman Zahid confirming the report said, at least 8 members of the Afghan local police forces were killed and 2 others were taken hostages by the armed insurgents.
Mr. Zahid further added armed insurgents ambushed an outpost of the local police forces and the militants were armed with assault rifles.
No group including the Taliban militants have so far claimed responsibility behind the incident.
