May 15., 2012. - RC-East operational update

BAGRAM, Afghanistan – Afghan and coalition forces killed three insurgents and detained three suspects during operations in eastern Afghanistan throughout the past 24 hours, May 15.

Kunar province
Coalition forces killed three insurgents in Darah Ye Pech district in response to small-arms fire. One Afghan National Army soldier died during the attack when his patrol vehicle struck an improvised explosive device. ANA soldiers and coalition forces also detained three suspects in Darah Ye Pech district after positively identifying two as known insurgents.

Operations in RC-East are still ongoing.
