KABUL, Afghanistan – In Burkah district, Baghlan province, an Afghan and coalition security force recovered weapons and improvised explosive devices during a patrol, Tuesday, May 16.
The combined forces confiscated a cache consisting of 30 mortar rounds, 30 mortar fuses, one grenade and several RPG’s. The material was destroyed on site without incident.

An Afghan and coalition security force discovered a drugs cache during a patrol in Nahr-e Saraj district, Helmand province, today. The cache consisted of approximately 200 pounds (90 kilograms) of opium. Security forces confiscated the drugs without incident.
East
An Afghan and coalition security force discovered a weapons and explosives cache during an operation in Zurmat district, Paktiya province, Tuesday. The cache consisted of two 107mm rockets, multiple anti-tank mines, an improvised rocket launcher, one machine gun tripod, one 12.7 mm machine gun, a quantity of 82 mm mortar ammunition and 66 gallons (250 liters) of explosives. All of the weapons and explosive materials were destroyed on-site without incident.
