Dec. 02., 2012. - RC-East operational update

BAGRAM, Afghanistan - Afghan and coalition forces located two weapons caches and cleared three improvised explosive devices during operations in eastern Afghanistan throughout the past 24 hours, Dec. 1.

Ghazni Province
Afghan National Army soldiers and coalition forces found and safely cleared one IED in Qarah Bagh District.

Afghan National Security Forces and coalition forces discovered a weapons cache in Waghaz District. The cache contained small arms ammunition.

Khowst Province
Afghan National Army soldiers and coalition forces found and safely cleared one IED in Gurbuz District.

Afghan Uniformed Police and coalition forces discovered a weapons cache in Terayzai District. The cache contained small arms, and small arms ammunition, four blasting caps and two grenades.

Paktya Province
Afghan National Army soldiers and coalition forces found and safely cleared one IED in Zurmat District.

Operations in RC-East are ongoing.
