An Afghan and coalition security force detained a Taliban weapons dealer in Panjwa’i district, Kandahar province, today. The leader facilitated the shipment and delivery of explosives, rifles, and ammunition to insurgents operating throughout Kandahar. During the operation, the security force also detained two suspected insurgents.
In Pul-e ‘Alam district, Logar province, an Afghan and coalition security force conducted an operation to detain a Haqqani leader today. The leader is responsible for planning and conducting attacks against Afghan and coalition forces throughout the district, including an attack against a coalition convoy in May. During the operation, the security force detained numerous suspected insurgents.
