The latest green-on-blue attack took place in Nad Ali district in the evening, a senior police official, Col. Mohammad Ismail Hotak, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
He said ANA and International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) soldiers exchanged gunfire, but he had no information about casualties.
But Brig. Gen. Syed Malook Safi, 215th Maiwand Military Corps commander, confirmed one ISAF service member was killed and an ANA soldier injured. He said an investigation was underway.
Meanwhile, ISAF confirmed the shooting, saying that an individual in an ANA uniform turned his weapon against foreign soldiers, killing one.
However, the NATO-led force did not give the victim’s nationality. “ISAF and Afghan officials are investigating the incident,” it added.

A NATO soldier was killed following a suspected insider attack in southern Afghanistan on Sunday.
NATO-led International Security Assistance Force following a statement announced, “An International Security Assistance Force service member died when an individual wearing an Afghan National Army uniform turned his weapon against ISAF service members in southern Afghanistan today.”
“The incident is currently under investigation.”, ISAF said following the statement.
The source did not disclose further information regarding the exact location of the incident and nationality of the deceased soldier.
International Security Assistance Force geneerally do not disclose identities of the NATO soldiers killed in Afghanistan saying, “It is ISAF policy to defer casualty identification procedures to the relevant national authorities.”
In the meantime local officials in southern Kandahar province of Afghanistan said a NATO soldier was killed and another soldier was injured following a roadside bomb explosion in this province.
The officials further added the incident took place while ISAF troops were defusing a roadside improvised explosive device in Panjwai district on Saturday evening.
At least 378 NATO troops including 287 US troops, 44 British troops and 47 soldiers from the other NATO member countries have been killed in Afghanistan since the beginning of 2012.
