In Several Joint Clearance Operations, Eight Armed Taliban Killed
Counterterrorism:
During the past 24 hours, Afghan National Police, Afghan National Army,
NDS and Coalition Forces launched 17 joint clearance operations in
Kabul, Kunar, Balkh, Faryab, Kandahar, Uruzgan, Maidan Wardak, Logar,
Ghazni, Paktiya, Farah and Helmand provinces.
As a result of these operations, eight armed Taliban were killed, three wounded and 12 others were arrested by Afghan National Security Forces.

Also, during these operations, Afghan National Police discovered and
confiscated 989 kilos of opium, 17 AK-47 assault rifles with 18
magazines, one PKM machine gun, 11 different types of weapons, nine
heavy rounds, eight different types of mines, six hand grenades, one
motorcycle and two vehicles.
Additionally, Afghan National Police discovered and defused an
anti-vehicle mine which was placed by enemies of peace and stability in
the Qalat City capital of Zabul province, yesterday.
