Five armed insurgents killed and 18 others arrested by Afghan National Police
Counterterrorism:
During the past 24 hours, Afghan National Police, Afghan National Army,
NDS and Coalition Forces launched eight joint clearance operations in
Kabul, Nangarhar, Baghlan, Helmand, Maidan Wardak, and Badakhshan
provinces.
As a result of these operations, five armed insurgents were killed and 18 others were arrested by Afghan National Police.

Also, during these operations, Afghan National Police discovered and confiscated amount of light and heavy weapons.
During the same 24 hour period, Afghan National Police discovered and
defused two anti-vehicle mines as a result of security operation in the
Khasroad District of Nimroz province.
Counternarcotics and Crimes:
The 101 Kabul Zone National Police detained nine individuals accused of murder, theft and assault in the 2nd, 6th, 8th, 13th, and 17th Districts of Kabul-City.
In the meantime, Afghan National Police arrested a smuggler with 19kg
of heroin in the 10th District of Herat City capital of Herat province,
yesterday.
