Eight Armed Taliban Killed and 23 Arrested by Afghan National Police
Counterterrorism:
During the past 24 hours, Afghan National Police, Afghan National Army,
NDS and Coalition Forces launched seven joint clearance operations in
Balkh, Sar-e-Pul, Nangarhar, Helmand, Ghazni, Paktiya and Parwan
provinces.
As a result of these operations, eight armed Taliban were killed, one wounded and 23 others were arrested by Afghan National Police.

Also, during these operations, Afghan National Police discovered and
confiscated three AK-47 assault rifles, two pistols, two different types
of weapons, 23 heavy rounds, two radio handsets, seven different types
of mines, four hand grenades, 300 kilos of opium, 14 kilos of heroin and
five magazines.
Additionally, Afghan National Police discovered and defused four
anti-vehicle mines, six hand grenades, eight fire crackers, four
magazines and 28 kilos of explosives as a result of security operations
in Kapisa, Faryab, Kandahar, Ghazni, Paktiya and Helmand provinces,
yesterday.
Crimes:
The 101 Kabul Zone National Police detained five individuals accused of theft and drinking alcoholic beverages in the Paghman, 1st, 3rd and 17th Districts of Kabul-City.
