Oct. 19., 2012. - RC-East operational update

BAGRAM, Afghanistan - Afghan and coalition forces located two weapons caches and cleared 13 improvised explosive devices during operations in eastern Afghanistan throughout the past 24 hours Oct. 18.

Ghazni province

Afghan National Security Forces and coalition forces found and safely cleared three IEDs, two in Khwajah Omari district and one in Qarah Bagh district.

Khowst province

Afghan National Security Forces and coalition forces found and safely cleared an IED in Shamal district.

Afghan National Army soldiers and coalition forces discovered two weapons caches in Tanai district. The caches contained mines, grenades and a recoilless rifle round.

Laghman province
Afghan National Army soldiers found and safely cleared an IED in Alisheng district.

Logar province

Afghan National Army soldiers found and safely cleared five IEDs in Pul-E Alam district.

Nangarhar province
Afghan Uniformed Police found and safely cleared an IED in Mohammad Darah district.

Parwan province
Afghan National Police and coalition forces found and safely cleared an IED in Bagram district.

Wardak province

Afghan National Security Forces and coalition forces found and safely cleared an IED in Sayyidabad district.

Operations in RC-East are still ongoing.
